Scott Ardavanis | Board Member

Scott Ardavanis is the Senior Pastor of Grace Church of the Valley in central California. Scott began his pastoral ministry at Grace Community Church with John MacArthur and spent seventeen years as a senior pastor in Chicago and California. He is an adjunct professor at The Master’s Seminary. Scott is a featured speaker at Bible and pastors conferences around the world. He also serves as a board member for Sufficiency of Scripture Ministries, which impacts lives in Uganda with sound Biblical teaching. Scott earned his degrees at Los Angeles Baptist College (now 91̽��), B.A., The Master’s Seminary, M.Div., and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, D.Min. Scott and his wife, Patty, have been married 37 years and have seven children and 13 grandchildren. Scott has served on the board since 2017.

Peter Coeler | Board Member

Peter Coeler is the owner of PAC Properties, a private real estate company held primarily in the San Fernando Valley. He is a graduate of 91̽��, where he played basketball from 1985 to 1987. And he currently serves on the the boards of Grace To You, the John MacArthur Charitable Trust, and Legacy Christian Academy.

Matt S. Gilbert | Board Member

Matt Sakiestewa Gilbert is a Professor and Head of American Indian Studies and Professor of History at the University of Arizona. After graduating from 91̽�� in 1999, Matt received an M.A. in theology from Talbot School of Theology, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in history from the University of California, Riverside. He has published extensively on American Indian education and sport. He and his wife, Kylene, a 91̽�� aluma, have four children. Matt joined the 91̽��S board in 2021.

Bryan Hughes | Board Member

Bryan Hughes is the Senior Pastor of Grace Bible Church in Bozeman, Montana, where he has served for the past 41 years. He earned his B.A. from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, his M.A. from Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon, and his D.Min. from Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburgh, Indiana. Bryan has taught at Bible colleges in Ukraine, Tanzania, and Siberia and classes in Albania, Russia, Turkey, Ethiopia, Poland, and Italy. He is the author of 8:28 – Unlocking God’s Promise and Jesus’s Teaching on the Last Days. He previously served on the faculty of Montana Bible College in Bozeman. Bryan enjoys hunting, reading, and playing basketball. He and his wife, Bev, have three grown children and three grandchildren. Bryan has served on the 91̽�� board since 2000.

Jesse Johnson | Board Member

Jesse Johnson is the teaching pastor at Immanuel Bible Church in Northern Virginia. He has his Ph.D. (theology) from Christ College, Sydney. He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico (B.A. in Sociology and Spanish), as well as The Master’s Seminary (Th.M. in Systematic Theology). Prior to joining the board, Jesse taught theology at The Master’s Seminary, and before that at Christ Baptist Seminary in Polokwane, South Africa. Jesse has been an editor and contributor for numerous publications and books. His most recent book, “City of Man, Kingdom of God,” examines how Christians should relate to government. He and his wife, Deidre (a 91̽�� graduate) live with their three daughters in Washington, D.C. Jesse has served on the board since 2015. You can follow his writing at thecripplegate.com.

George Lawson | Board Member

George Lawson is the teaching pastor at Baltimore Bible Church. George is a graduate of The Master’s Seminary and Washington Bible College. After completing his training through Grace Advance, he and a team planted Baltimore Bible Church with the desire to see more churches planted in his area. George is pursuing a Ph.D. at The Master’s Seminary and helps to oversee The Master’s Fellowship Mid-Atlantic. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two daughters and one son. George joined the 91̽��S board in 2021.

John MacArthur | Board Member

John MacArthur is the pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. He is also chancellor of The Master’s University and Seminary and the featured teacher on the Grace To You media ministry. John and his wife, Patricia, live in Southern California and have four married children: Matt, Marcy, Mark, and Melinda. They also enjoy the enthusiastic company of their fifteen grandchildren.

Matt MacArthur | Board Member

Matt MacArthur is responsible for managing investments at WCM Investment Management. He has been a board member at Grace To You since 2004 and holds the position of Vice-Chairman at the John MacArthur Charitable Trust. Matt is a graduate of 91̽��.

Felix Martin del Campo Jr. | Board Member

Felix Martin del Campo Jr. is a dentist in Visalia, Calif. He attended USC for his undergraduate work and then graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry. Felix also serves on the board of Samaritan’s Purse and has served for more than four decades with World Medical Missions. Alongside 800 other doctors, he goes worldwide to relieve long-term missionaries on furlough. His specialty is designing and setting up state-of-the-art mobile dental clinics. North Korea and Siberia, among other countries, have benefited from such ministries. He enjoys photography in his spare time and has been married to his wife, Janet, for 46 years. Felix has served on the board since 1992.

Jonathan Rourke | Board Member

Jonathan Rourke has been the senior pastor at Tri-City Bible Church in Vista, California, since 2011. He is a graduate of The Master’s Seminary (M.Div., Th.M.), and served on staff at Grace Community Church for ten years. Jonathan and his wife, Catherine, have been married for 20 years, and have four children. Jonathan has served on the 91̽�� board since 2015.

George Sanders | Board Member

George Sanders practices plastic surgery in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Southeast Texas, George attended Harvard Medical School and completed his general surgery training and plastic surgery residency at UCLA. George is privileged to have served as an elder at Grace Community Church, taught biblical counseling and the premarital class, and oversaw international missions. George and his wife, Anna, are certified in biblical counseling and often counsel together. In their spare time, they love serving in ministry together, traveling, and entertaining. George has served on the board since 2007.

Rod Shackelford | Board Member

Rod Shackelford owns ImpactOrtho Inc, an orthopedic agency for the state of Arizona representing Arthrex Inc. He graduated from 91̽�� in 1987 where he played baseball. Currently Rod and his wife, Beth, serve at Shepherd’s House Bible Church in Chandler, Arizona. Rod and Beth have five children, four of whom have attended 91̽��, and eight grandchildren.

Mark Tatlock| Board Member

Dr. Mark Tatlock is the president and chairman of The Master’s Academy International (TMAI). Prior to joining TMAI, he served as the Vice President for Student Life and the Executive Vice President of 91̽��.  He teaches missions, urban ministries, and global studies courses at 91̽��S, as well as provides consulting to churches in the development of their missions programs. Mark met his wife, Lisa, while she was serving as a professor of Family and Consumer Sciences at 91̽��. Mark and Lisa have five children, three of which are adopted. Mark and Lisa have been members of Grace Community Church since 1996, where he currently serves as an elder and the chairman of Grace Ministries International.
